Historic Prowse Farm is a scenic, multi-purpose venue with a location second to none: 44 acres of scenic landscape known as the “front lawn of the foothills of the Great Blue Hills,” nestled beautifully at the border of Canton and Milton, Massachusetts, located off Rte. 95/128. Formerly known as the world famous “Forbes Farm,” home of J. Malcolm Forbes’ world champion trotting standard-bred horses and later to Martha Peabody Prowse, the mansion and/or grounds are available for your next special event or wedding.
Whether you dream of wide open spaces or the charm of celebrating your wedding in a historic home, Prowse Farm can accommodate your vision.
Can you imagine being transported by horse and carriage to your reception? Picture your wedding party gathering in the breathtaking vista of Great Blue Hill as the backdrop to your celebration? Dine in a spacious tent and dance by candlelight or moonlight?
The Prowse Farm mansion and 120 x 50 foot tent offer creative settings for your special moments. All manner of services are available for your selection including: catering, bands, disc jockeys, national recording artists, limousines, and carriage rides. Some of the highly successful recreational/educational programs and events held on the property over the years include the annual Farm City Festival, Antique Carriage Driving Event, Native American Pow-Wow, Artists In Residence Event, Greater Boston Family Day & Jewish Music Festival, Forbes Museum Benefit (Milton, MA), Woman’s Shelter Benefit sponsored by DOV, Greater Boston Interior Design Show House, 3-day Susan G. Komen Cancer Walk in 2006 which drew 1,700 walkers, the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in 2007 and 2008, the 13.1k mini-marathon for Crohn’s disease in 2010 and the Life is Good Festival in 2010 which attracted 28,000 people over the weekend. To date, fund raising events hosted at the farm by charitable groups have raised over $23 million. The main residence includes a large patio, two-story atrium, museum, meeting rooms and kitchen.
